Musigy Psychoacoustics Testing

This is a musician who does not see and hear anything but his jamming partner who is playing with him over a network connection with some very bad latency and jitter.

Yesterday we invited Peter Chukov and his father Alexander (both of them are pro musicians) for a series of psychoacoustics experiments to find out more about the effect of latency, jitter and packet loss on the jamming experience.

We simulated the parameters of the network in our office LAN with a special software. The musicians were playing different pieces with different tempos over different network parameters (introduced randomly by the intermediary software) and then they rated their experience.

Of course there was not just pure science but also a lot of fun along the way :)
